The Far Reaching Legacy of Kansas City’s Robert McClure Snyder

By Suzee Soldanels Oberg

The Spring 2005 JOURNAL of the Jackson County Historical Society features The Far Reaching Legacy of Kansas City’s Robert McClure Snyder by Suzee Soldanels Oberg

We’re thankful for our contributors (current and future) for allowing us to share their writings with you. Each one presents an informative chapter in our area’s colorful history.

Suzee Oberg’s Far Reaching Legacy of Kansas City’s Robert McClure Snyder is a fascinating look at one whose contributions to our mid-western way of life should be remembered. The printed version is abbreviated from a full-length manuscript biography of Robert McClure Snyder (1852-1906) by the author available at the Jackson County Historical Society’s Archives and Research Library.

Suzee SoldanEls Oberg, a Jackson County Historical Society member, operates a 52-year-old family business, Suzee’s Fashions, in Overland Park, Kansas, where she has been active in civic and business organizations. Her interest in American and family history has also led her to support several other historical and genealogical societies, and the Memorial Foundation for the Germanna Colonies in Virginia. Suzee’s husband, Ken, and her grown children and grandsons have always been patient participants in courthouse and cemetery searches.
