The popular Jackson County Historical Society Journal is just published.
The 32-page full color issues includes articles about Harry Truman, Phog Allen, Walt Disney, early Independence and Kansas City in the 1940s.
Members will receive print copies in the mail. Consider joining JCHS to get the print edition.
The full journal will be available online later, but enjoy some of the supplemental materials online now.
Look for the Winter 2014 edition in late November.
The Journal has been revived after a three year hiatus.
The editorial board is headed by Brad Pace.
